LiteraTurm Pavillon 2008

2008
Cultural buildings

schneider+schumacher designed a temporary pavillion for the literary festival LiteraTurm, which took place at various locations in Frankfurt from the 28th of Mai until the 1st of June 2008.

It was installed infront of the Central Library of the Frankfurt City Library. The pavilion formed a central meeting point for the public during the festival, where they were able to receive tickets, information and program brochures.

The pavilion was constructed using the Plywood Boards used two years prior to this event for the same occasion. They have been reprinted and placed around the Tugendbrunnen place in front of the library. Two boards are moved to the side during opening times, creating a clear view of the information desk inside. This gesture is a metaphor to reading a book.

The architects schneider+schumacher have supported the project with their creative output free of charge. The locksmith/carpenters Holz+Stahl from Offenbach then turned the idea into a buildable structure and calculated the cost of materials.
