Good architecture for good deeds
“Plan helps children – we help Plan. Good architecture for good deeds”. This motto can be read on an envelope that now has pride of place in the House of Sponsorships planned by schneider+schumacher. The platinum envelope symbolises schneider+schumacher’s support for Plan International Germany’s LEAD programme, which aims to enable girls, in particular, to play an active role in shaping political and social decision-making. Prof. Michael Schumacher and Dr Werner Bauch, Chairman of the Board of Plan International Germany and the foundation ‘Hilfe mit Plan’, jointly placed the platinum envelope in the hallway of the building.
In the House of Sponsorships, the design of the hallways using envelopes highlights the many letters from sponsors that Plan sends out all over the world. At the Hamburg headquarters each year more than 100,000 letters written by sponsors to their sponsored children are translated and forwarded to families in Africa, Asia or South America.
