The ramp structure was designed by schneider+schumacher in collaboration with CDM Smith as part of the approximately 2,750-metre extension of the U5 underground line from Frankfurt Central Station towards the Europaviertel. The so-called ramp collar marks the transition from the underground section to the surface in the middle of Europa-Allee. schneider+schumacher, together with CDM Smith, was commissioned with the design planning in 2012. In 2018, a special commission was awarded by SBEV for 3D parametric support for the construction planning.
