The Hochpunkt H development in Mannheim’s new FRANKLIN district comprises a residential building approximately 50 metres high. The building consists of a two-storey plinth that forms the base for the north and south towers. The Europaachse runs through the plinth, integrating the building into the urban fabric. On the seventh and eighth floors, a bridge with residential units connects the two towers. A total of 123 flats, ranging in size from 45 to 120 square metres, have been created across 14 full storeys. The plinth also houses commercial premises, as well as an inclusive nursery. An underground car park provides ample parking spaces.

The decision to build the residential block in the shape of the letter H was a deliberate choice: together with three other high-rise buildings, it forms the word ‘HOME’, symbolising the new home for the residents. GBG Unternehmensgruppe GmbH acted as the developer for the H tower block. It commissioned a consortium comprising Implenia, HEBERGER Hoch-, Tief- und Ingenieurbau and the Mannheim-based building division of Peter Gross Bau to carry out the work. schneider+schumacher Bau- und Projektmanagement GmbH was responsible for the detailed design on behalf of the consortium. After a construction period of 52 months, the project was successfully completed. Full completion of the entire Franklin site is scheduled for 2028.
