Städel Roof - Staircase

The new “Städel Roof” offers an unforgettable panoramic view of the Frankfurt skyline. At a height of 15 metres, the visitor terrace is situated above the museum’s main entrance. The installation of two steel spiral staircases provided a space-saving solution for the access route inside, thereby avoiding any structural alterations to the listed façade. The two cylinders, each with 50 steps, serve as sculptural elements linking the old and the new.
