Fronius Research and Development Center

Thalheim, 2007 – 2011
Research facilities

The building works for the Fronius Research and Development Center began in November 2008. The design reflects both the structure and corporate identity of the Austrian global player. Fronius core values are continuity and innovation. The relationship of the new buildings with the existing context reflects the belief that the past creates the present. The corporate colour on this building underlines its importance within the ensemble. The companys architectural language is expressed both by the buildings exterior and interiors. The ensemble communicates the companys past, its recent transformation and visions for the future. Fronius message and mindset are reflected in the architecture: clarity and simplicity in the arrangement of the building volumes, open and flexible structures fostering good orientation, an energy efficient facade and the use of renewable energy - Protection of the environment and sustainability are paramount.
