New Technical Town Hall Mannheim completed

On 1 January, the New Technical Town Hall will be officially handed over to the City of Mannheim. GBG – Mannheimer Wohnungsbaugesellschaft – have now completed the administrative building on time and on budget, following two and a half years of construction work.

The New Technical Town Hall, located in Mannheim’s Glückstein district offers space for 700 workplaces, and replaces offices in the previous Technical Town Hall in the Collini Center tower. In addition to offices, and with a total gross floor area of some 29,300 square metres there will be a company restaurant and cafeteria, plus a workplace crèche. The building consists of 13 full storeys plus a basement and reaches a height of 56 metres. As it fulfils the KfW Efficiency House 55 program, it will also be contributing to climate protection.

According to Prof. Michael Schumacher: “We wanted to create atmosphere and space around a courtyard plan that would engender a place in this lively city where people enjoy getting together.”
