First prize for schneider+schumacher

Following three initial competition phases, last week the competition jury awarded two first prizes and two ‘honourable mentions’. In its minutes, they praised schneider+schumacher’s concept as a spatially liberating arrangement. In particular, they singled out the pleasantly restrained way in which the connecting routes had been designed, resulting in a high-quality, community-engendering and neighbourhood-strengthening concept for the external landscaping. According to the jury, “The design concept creates a buffer in front of the flats that people can use in a variety of ways and offers a great asset, exemplifying the contemporary approach”.
