Max and Moritz from Austria

More than 130 submissions from all over the world have been awarded the architecture prize "Wohnen für alle" (Living for All). Ten selected international offices then submitted ideas for affordable housing in a second phase of the competition for Hilgenfeld in Frankfurt, of which four projects have now been selected for implementation. Among the winners is schneider+schumacher’s Viennese office, whose Max and Moritz project won through due to their choice of an innovative and sustainable building typology. The design proves that high-quality, sustainable architecture, and cost-effectiveness need not be contradictory concepts.
