2nd Prize for "New Housing in Frankfurt-Eschersheim"

20.11.2018 - Notes

An urgent need for more housing has prompted the city of Frankfurt to set up an urban and landscape competition with public involvement, to develop an urban housing project incorporating a considerable amount of green space in Frankfurt-Eschersheim. schneider+schumacher’s design envisages a six-storey building, marking a high point at the entrance, however the rest of the accommodation is distributed as predominantly three-storey housing blocks with internal courtyards. The design incorporates existing swathes of green, such as the "little wood" in an area named "Between woods and trees". Following the second phase of the competition, the design has been awarded a second prize.

The competition schemes will be on show until 07.12.2018 from 8:30-18:00 in the atrium of the City Planning Department, Kurt-Schumacher-Str. 10, 60311 in Frankfurt am Main.

In collaboration with Carla Lo Landschaftsarchitekten.
