Progress in constructing the "Haus der Patenschaften"

The construction site for the new building for the children’s charity Plan International Germany is now in full swing. The foundation for this building, designed by schneider+schumacher, has already been cast. Work on the shell will continue well into the autumn, while the tendering process for the façade plus other specialist trades continues.

The new LEITEN Centre of Excellence aims to encourage children, and in particular girls and women living in the 52 countries where Plan operates the scheme, to take on leading roles in politics, economic affairs and society. To this end, ‘LEAD Funds’ has been set up, whereby anyone who wishes to donate money to this good cause can choose to be simultaneously immortalized in the form of a symbolic envelope, which will be placed on the wall of the new "Haus der Patenschaften" (or Sponsors’ Building). The scheme will be built directly opposite the headquarters of Plan International Deutschland, which is located in the "Haus der Philanthropie" on Bramfelder Strasse in Hamburg-Barmbek.
