News from FAIR

Building work at the FAIR accelerator facility in Wixhausen near Darmstadt is coming on apace. Over the past few days the first of six excavated pits for the 1,100-metre-long accelerator has been handed over to the client.

As soon as the lightening conductor is laid, construction work will start this summer on the shell.

With the extraordinary dimensions of the project, the pictures speak for themselves.
