IntercityHotel at the main station reveals its external cladding

In close proximity to the city centre, CA Immo is developing the "IntercityHotel Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof Süd" based on a schneider+schumacher design. The facade of the upper floors is no longer hidden behind the scaffolding and it gives the future building a distinctive look. The façade design is based on a staggered grid of holes that coincide with the rooms behind. Here, the plasticity of turn-of-the-century buildings is reinterpreted in a contemporary idiom, exploiting the possibilities of precast concrete, with wave-like pattern corresponding to the curtains in the interior spaces.
