Bolongaropalast: A symbolic groundbreaking ceremony

Yesterday the Mayor of Frankfurt Peter Feldmann unveiled the construction site board at the north corner of Bolongarostrasse, in the presence of the press, local officials, and the team of architects from schneider+schumacher and Rimpl und Flacht. In his role as client, Feldmann also signed the planning application, which will be submitted for building approval. This marks the official commencement of work to transform the region’s largest baroque building, once privately owned. Alongside renovation and structural maintenance work – carried out in keeping with the listed building status – a new concept is also being implemented. This involves the addition of a museum, an area for events and a restaurant. The Bolongaropalast will be barrier-free accessible and the work is due for completion by 2020.
