Big wave!

With an official inauguration party the new exterior landscaped area of the office development "die welle" in Frankfurt Westend was symbolically handed over to the tenants. Since January 2015 the area was remodelled and upgraded. Michael Schumacher and Matthias Leube, Regional Head of Asset Management & Transactions, Germany, at AXA IM – Real Assets, illustrated the background of the project in a little speech. The new area is an urban design measure with an architectural context and an artwork.

The result is a three-dimensional wave, which highlights the location, attracts widespread attention, provides spaces to unwind in the open und through this transforms the office complex into a lively urban neighbourhood. The aluminium sculpture consists of six elements that flow, wave-like, through the entire length of space that runs between the main buildings. Three of these elements prise themselves away from the floor as arches of differing heights.
