Topping-out ceremony at Podhagskygasse in Vienna

In September 2013, the topping-out ceremony for the residential project Podhagskygasse took place in Vienna. The projekt serves as pilot scheme for the SMART housing programme for subsidized housing of Vienna. It is realised by a working group of schneider+schumacher Architekten ZT and Projektbau Planung GesmbH.

The two Austrian offices emerged victoriuos in a developer’s competion in 2011 by proposing six similar buildings that include 106 housing units. The units are orgaised in a compact manner around a courtyard, which easily encourages everyday communication among the residents.
