Inauguration of the art project "Vertieft-Erhaben" at the Parks Department

The sculptor duo Winter/Hörbelt realized an "art in architecture"-project at the Parks Department designed by schneider+schumacher in Frankfurt. The inauguration took place today. 

On the wall of the main staircase there is a "tapestry" with impressions of the urban life in Frankfurt.  The 460 municipal employees working in the building supported the artists in the choice of the motifs.

These were chiseled with hammers out of the white fettled wall and thereby expose the concrete wall beneath. In that way the artwork refers to the users of the building as redards content and the doing.

Starting point of the project was an "art-in-architecture"-competition, in which Till Schneider and six other jury members chose the concept of Winter/Hörbelt.
