Design Educates Awards 2026

The Design Educates Awards recognise creative ideas in the fields of architecture and design that impress with their high aesthetic quality whilst also having the potential to stimulate educational processes. The international jury has awarded the Hetao Innovation Centre, designed by schneider+schumacher, an ‘Honorable Mention in Architectural Design’. Situated directly on the riverbank in a cooperation zone between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, the research building impresses with its stepped arrangement of two parallel structures, which rise to form an office tower 120 metres high and are connected by externally visible staircases in contrasting colours.

The Design Educates Awards are organised and presented by the Laka Foundation – a charitable organisation and global network dedicated to the social impact of design and architecture.
