New IHK Pfalz building

At the end of June, the new building for the Palatinate Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK Pfalz), designed by schneider+schumacher, was occupied and officially opened. A distinctive design feature of the new building is its generously glazed, open façade: various prismatically angled surfaces reflect the trees and the sky in different ways. The atrium, with its sculptural spiral staircase, is the heart of the building. Inside, the use of timber creates a warm, pleasant atmosphere whilst also ensuring good acoustics.

During Architecture Day on 27 June, interested visitors were able to take part in guided architectural tours of the new building.
