Zhaolian Tower: A New Landmark on Shenzhen’s Skyline

24.03.2026 - Notes

The Zhaolian Tower in Shenzhen’s Qianhai service district has been completed and its main tenant, MUCFC, a subsidiary of China Merchants Bank and China Unicom, has officially moved in. For schneider+schumacher, Zhaolian marks the fourth realized project in the southern Chinese metropolis, following the Qianhai Justice Center, the Qianhai Telecommunication Center, and the Hetao Innovation Center, completed in 2025.

Rising to a height of 180 meters and offering approximately 110,000 square meters of usable floor area, the office tower is defined by its clear façade design, creating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow. The interior design focuses on fostering communication and dynamism, reflecting the identity of the young and growing financial services company MUCFC.

An atrium and staggered office levels establish visual connections between departments, replacing isolated cellular offices with open, flexible spaces that can be zoned as needed. In addition to office areas, the tower offers a wide range of amenities and recreational facilities, including a fitness center, a roof garden, and sports facilities for basketball and tennis.

The high level of client satisfaction was confirmed during an on-site visit by schneider+schumacher’s Chinese project team, together with Michael Schumacher (Board ), Nan Wang (Partner at schneider+schumacher), and representatives of MUCFC. During a joint walkthrough, the tower was inspected in full operation, verifying its functional performance in everyday working conditions.
