Topping-out ceremony at Bernreiterplatz

22.07.2021 - Notes

In Vienna, the project ‘Schöneck 13’ – consisting of 65 apartments – is currently under construction at Bernreiterplatz and Jedlersdorfer Strasse (see visualisation above). Both the building shell and roof structure have now been completed for this urban block, commissioned by BUWOG and designed by schneider+schumacher Vienna, and this event was marked by a topping-out ceremony at the beginning of July. Present at the ceremony were (from left to right): Michael Stadler, division manager at Handler Group, Eckehart Loidolt, partner at schneider+schumacher, Michael Schranz, managing director of Handler Bau, BUWOG managing director Andreas Holler, Peter Berchtold, sales manager at BUWOG, Michael Herbek, head of project development at BUWOG and Alexander Steppan, head of construction management at BUWOG.

The complex is due to be ready to move into as early as next year. Given the size of the plot it was important to create a visual rhythm on the elongated building, and this was achieved through precisely arranging various building components, such as dormers. Apartments on the ground floor have private gardens facing the inner courtyard, plus front gardens on Jedlersdorfer Strasse. On the first floor and in the lower of the two attic storeys, apartments extend longitudinally, following the contours of the façade. Depending on type and level, they have loggias, balconies or terraces. At second attic storey level, one staircase provides access to two apartments, each with a terrace overlooking the courtyard.
