A year ago, Frankfurt Parks Department building won the Dagmar + Matthias Krieger Foundation DMK Award for sustainable construction, in the category "Public Buildings". According to the jury's report, the passive energy building won due to its rigorous design and ingenious exploitation of the residual urban plot beside the Frankfurt railway tracks.
Currently a travelling exhibition is showcasing the DMK Award winning projects dating from 2010 to 2017. Its next stop will be the Technical Town Hall in Wiesbaden, where the exhibition opening takes place at 17:30 today. Christian Simons, project architect at the Parks Department and member of the management board, will be giving a keynote speech on the Parks Department building.
