The site for the Lakeside Living III project is located in close proximity to Klagenfurt West railway station and to Wörther Lake recreation area. Seen from the street, two residential blocks mark the entrance to the site. Their slightly offset arrangement opens up the possibility of creating a flowing sequence of open spaces, underlining the high quality of the residential neighbourhood. A linear terrace – a volume that acts as acoustic barrier – shields the entire residential district from the railway line to the south. The lower floor is destined to house commerce – opposite the entrance to the railway station.

 

All three buildings are oriented predominantly south-west, offering fantastic views of the Karawanken mountains from the upper floors. The project comprises 185 apartments distributed over eight floors, arranged as 2 – 4 room apartments. The ceiling height of 2.60m, plus sun-filled living and dining spaces, generate high-quality living space, further enhanced by terraces, loggias and wrap-around balconies. With this Lakeside Living project, schneider+schumacher Vienna, in conjunction with Riedergarten Immobilien, has once again succeeded in a competition. Back in 2016, they won 1st prize in a competition for phase 2, currently under construction.
